Like PCdev has said, its "similar" to chaos. If chaos was in the core games, it would again be one of the most popular playlists. The only notable difference between Chaos and Mercenary Mosh-Pit is that the latter doesn't allow parties kind of BS for two people, but easily understandable for 4 to 6 and a few more maps.

The core idea random maps and random modes still exists and if Nuketown wasn't the reason for you to go to Chaos Mosh-Pit, it was that. So, if those people complaining about Chaos Mosh-Pit being gone would simply stop refusing to play Mercenary Mosh-Pit plainly because it is not called Chaos Mosh-Pit, the darn thing would be highly populated.
