What type of appointments are there

The American Dental Association recommends a checkup even if you are not experiencing any symptoms, as you can still have dental problems only a dentist can diagnose. Women should begin seeing a gynecologist at the age of 21, regardless of sexual activity. Your physician will perform a pap smear, pelvic exam and breast exam during your annual visit.

These exams are a preventative measure that will check for signs of infection, growths, abnormalities and cancer screening. A yearly mammogram is also recommended for women starting at age 45 and women at high risk or family history of breast cancer. A yearly visit to your dermatologist is a great way to be proactive with screenings for different types of skin conditions. Your dermatologist will review medical history, family history and perform a skin cancer screening.
