The Network became a means to deliver the message about the values and brand of the Big Ten Conference.

Throughout the process, it was evident that the Presidents had numerous opportunities to change direction and seek more money, yet decided that their values were more important.

The Network also presents the opportunity to showcase the student athletes, the faculty and with hours per year devoted to campus wide programming, the wider range of life on a Big Ten campus. This study provides a roadmap for college commissioners and presidents seeking to use the explosion of digital television and new media technology to promote and enhance their campus identity.

A joint venture between the Big Ten Conference and Fox Networks, Big Ten Network is the first internationally distributed network dedicated to covering one of the premier collegiate conferences in the country. The Fox Sports App is the digital extension of the Big Ten Network, delivering live games and on-demand programming to Big Ten Network customers via the web, smartphones, and tablets.

Network events include football, men's and women's basketball games, dozens of Big Ten Olympic sports and championship events, studio shows and classic games.

Carter also oversaw the implementation of studio automation at Big Ten Network, which greatly increased the efficiency of studio production, as well as the successful launch of BTN Tailgate, the network? Talk of Our Town? The NFL Today,?

Prior to joining MSG Network, Carter served as coordinating and supervising producer at FOX Sports New York from where he oversaw studio and field production in addition to managing content, budgets and personnel.
